THE SPADGEROO
dude, sorry to hear about that mk 4 thing, anyway the 3 door we got of you is all done now, my own fault for it going wrong, leaned out & melted
the plug
anyway, the questions you asked about the engine,,,,
upon stripping it, bar the fooked piston it was all minto, deffo a new 200
block & it looked like a new crank aswell, it was on standard shells &
they were fine. didn't look to have done as many miles as said it had.
bores were fine, a quick hone, 2 new pistons, shells, arp bolts etc &
she's tick'a'de'boo again
looks cool on the comps aswell.
if your at Beds this weekend we'll catch up,,,, if not see ya soon

Cool mate glad you got it sorted
Nice to hear that what i was told about that engine was true and yes i knew i had over-estimated its mileage but i would rather tell you it had done more than i was told than less
Can i just say thanks to you for not doing what many others would have done and blamed me for your engine failure! I did feel for you when it happened so soon after you bought it but as you know a meltdown can happen at anytime and i certainly couldn't have predicted it was going to happen.
Thanks again and i'm pleased you are still pleased

Spadge, a few people told me you could be hard to deal with, i would say you
straight, but to the point. no bullshite, what you see is what you get.
i spoke to Matt @ M.L. he said the same.
the failure was nothing to do with the condition of the engine or car, just one of those things. anyway, it's done now, cometic head gasket, new (genuine) lifters etc
i've not got a tailgate yet, but if ever needed, i did get a n>s quarter panel

P.E. seem to have lost a bit of the name they had a few years back.
Richard Prior (Dickie) still owns the place, with a new partner called Steve.
Steve has lit a bit of a fire under there arse & things are gradually lifting off again.
which is good because there is so much knowledge in the place.

Yeah i was on the rollers there a few weeks back and the place was dead. Shame cos they a top company with load of experiance but have a reputation for being expensive for labour now.
I think also they diverted off toward the jap side (Scooby, evo's etc) and forgot about the bread and butter cars like the RST and the cossie etc that bring in small amount of money all day everyday.
I think they do ALOT of work for Customers from the FFOC with their Focus's so theres a good start
All good tho

I thought Rob who used to be the sales manager now owned PE when he bought it from Dave Power?
Richard Prior was always a partner in the co. The guy you refered to as Steve - this isnt Steve Haggar that used to work there is it? He was a top guy to have work on your motor.
