Default mahle pistons with 10:1 compression

Im looking at a set of cosworrth mahle pistons that are running about 10:1 compression with big valve cut outs . but wot i need to no is 10:1 compression ok for about 380 BHP on a T34 the cut outs are a must as i will be running a BD14 inlet cam

10.1 is normally aspirated comp ratio, I doubt you could run a turbo at that level or those cams. 8.1 is the standard level, the rally cars ran higher but had top spec management controlling it all

On a T34 you're best off using 7:8:1 with valve cut outs, you can drive mine to see the difference

I was like that too, but ended up buying new Mahle's around the corner from Harvey's place and had him do the necessary machining. Its piece of mind also ain't it, that the rights bits are in the heart of your engine

Not that far from Birmigham, so will take a drive down when yours is near completion

unless they are a higher compression height than std then there is no way they are in the 10s

I'm no expert, but they look standard with cut outs??

For that price i'd suggest getting brand new ones any way as they are arond £50-£60 more?

Well in that case why bother with valve cut outs as well? Stick to standard 8:1 then.

A Focus Cossie is o.k. at 350bhp, but more usable at 380bhp onwards, especially if its going to be 4x4 that's not as lively as a RWD.
