the other modded one is just down the road from me and he has several - that blue one he is selling might even martin johnsons old one (the guy who had several touring car rs500s) but i need to see the dash to confirm as he has removed the eggenberger stickers off the splitter - (if it is the one im thinking of)
his black one has been for sale for years

thats been up for sale on pistonheads for like at least 6-8months, it never dissapears and never goes down in price. same with the white and red 'race' looking versions...

There was a place less than a mile from where I live, who deal in VERY nice exotic cars, normally the top end Italian stuff, Astons, Porches etc, who have a good rep as excellent indi dealers. A few weeks ago, they had a 70k 2wd white saff up for 11k, was nice, but had a fair number of owners and wasn't exactly mint, cloth interior that was in "reasonable" condion, badly modded engine bay with lots of odd pipes etc.... Must have taken a huge hit on it, or paid very little for it in the first place, IMHO would struggle to have hit 5k?
I don't think the prices they are selling for is going to represent the value of the majority except the very very best cars in a few years time?

Of course they are, but I have a feeling that this is a bit of a bubble, helped by people jumping on the band wagon, trying to make a massive profit off a car they know little about. No doubt you are very clued up on the 500' specifically, and they will continue to sell for top money for the right car, but a lot of people are just chancing thier arm buying one, sticking 10k on it to see if it goes.

Its a shame some folk are trying to sell 20k rs500"s for 40k
people go and look at auch cars and think thats what you get for 40k and then asume there all the same and think there overprised

far from the 35k he wanted, as those numbers with ourdays economy are unrealistic.
its a buyers market, not a sellers one.....but selling a 500 now is as daft as the usual shite he spits out....nxt yr they are 25yrs old so will see a rise in price, should have kept it you fool but then again a lack of money forced the sale

I'd pay 40k for a good one, but I'd be very pickey? Do modifications de value RS500s? I'm not talking about naff alloys or daft mods, things like chip conversions and lowering kits etc?
