That is crazy doing repairs when the track is full of people hammering round, crash video shows how bad it can get. Could of been worse, everybody seemed to be almost parking up, totally blocking any run off area for the cars coming up behind

Testing the future

it was clearly a dynamic situation that was not handled correctly.
the original incident was nothing much, but the sign for it was too close for comfort and for that part of the road which is absolutely flat out.
what that meant was that a queue of vehicles built up through that section and tailed back around the corner, making it even worse for those coming up on the back. then it tailed back even further with rubber neckers, at which point, the warning sign should definitely have been moved further back. then more rubber neckers like jonny frenchy in his bmw blocked the road completely meaning cars coming around the previous bend had nowhere to go, and no prior warning.
very poor safety management. but then the place is so big it's hard to respond to an incident like that locally in time, hence they don't race much there. but you would think for the money that they take, they could get some flashing yellow lights every 100m or so for this purpose.
