Cleaning headbolt holes
Hi,
i dont have access to a air line or anything as the car is outside my house, what can i clean the holes with? tissue will only get a small amount out i expect.
any genius idea's?

Haha didnt even think about it, worth a go i suppose, i cant see dirt in there but from sanding my block down ready for the gasket to go on, i know there will be little bits in there.

Petrol then use a small bottle brush wind it in and out then blast in the hole with a can of lighter gas whatch your eyes lol!! ho and the hoover is very good just tape a small tube on the end to down size the sucker tube and get right to the base of the holes.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
we used to take a old headbolt and angle grind a groove through the threads top to bottom then wind it in and out the groove collects the shit

It's best not to use a tap, as a tap can re-cut to a degree weakening the threads.
You can also buy specific thread cleaning tools, which are basically a blunt tap.
But a bit of wire, old bolt, airline etc will all be good.
