Default Splitting AP calipers

I'm in the middle of refurbing a set of AP four pots. So far I've kept them in one piece as I was worried about them never sealing again.

How much of a worry is this? I'd like to split them as it'd be easier to refurb them. But I want them to work again so if it's a huge risk I'll leave them.

Anyone done any and got any advice?

No big deal. Make sure the faces are very clean on assembly, and inspect the O-rings,

if you have new o rings or the old ones are ok then i carnt see there being any probs! as long as the too mateing faces are ok aswell also id smear a light film of grease on the o ring to help them seal

there are no seals.. are there?

the brake fluid moves from one side to the other via the hard piping around the bottom..

its just two sides bolted together??

(Im thinking CP5200s though)

Exactly, I had my 5200 in half the other week just the metal pipe joins the two sides
