I would only be swapping it in order to sell it Or trade it in for a nice estate car for the mrs it's done 20k and it has 1 previous owner and the guy that owns it now notsure wether it's a good move or not he also said he got a bank loan to buy it so does that mean it could be taken of me as I have no idea what this means

Did he get a regular bank loan, or is the car on finance? If it's just a loan, then no, they can't get the car back if he sels it to you - but if it's on finance, the finance needs to be clear before you buy it (well, it can be cleared at the time of sale but if you're doing a straight swap then there's no cash involved, so you need to be very sure it's not got any outstanding finance on it).
Why don't you just sell the Cosworth, rather than swap and sell?

He said it was a bank loan and not finance and tbh I was gonna keep the cossie but it's our only car and the mrs hates driving it due to me saying make sure u do this don't do that don't park there watch the wheels ect ect and I did have it up for sale but people were only really offering me swaps part cash etc and we ideally do need an estate due to our 7 month old boy and 2 dogs tbf but I really didn't don't want to get rid of the cosworth but know really for financial reasons I should :-(

Sounds more like he's growing up and getting his priorities right.
I had to sell mine due to buying a house and I don't regret it one bit, onwards and upwards mate.
It's a hard one, cossies aren't selling at mo so if the car your going to swop yours for is finance free, it would be easier to trade in.

I know what ur saying guys but at the mo we only have this car and if I keep it then realistically it's gonna be our only car due to running costs all the mods upgrades welding etc I want to do to it and my mrs works nights with is 2.5miles down the road leaves ours at 11pm home at 5am so on her journey 3 times aweek 6 short journeys is that not gonna do some sort of damage not even getting warm I love the car I really do but Ive got so many plans for it that it's a massive drain on our money and I'd be swapping for that fiesta to sell on or trade as I'm more likly to sell that then I am the cossie just need to know what I'd get for the fez really

I wouldnt swap it mate. If you really want to sell it it will sell, just cover all area's i.e. autotrader ebay pistonheads gumtree local publications forums etc
Give it one more go and cover ALL angles

This is simple, find out why the trade book price is for the fiesta. If you think it's the same or more than what the saph is worth then do the deal. If not then sell the saph privately.
Seems like you've already made your mind up about selling, so it's just which option makes best financial sense.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
A late place fiesta could easily be sold to a dealer, try and get a price.
Fiesta's are like a commodity, easy to value, so long as its not been messed about with, but if it has (photo looks like it) then no one will want to know. And you will be stuck with a boy racer fiesta.
At least it will be reliable and nice to drive.
