Default Focus TDCI injector testing?

Right i may have narrowed my starting problem down to a bad injector.

I read online about pulling off the leak of pipes and unplugging the electrics then cranking the engine.

I have just tried this and i am getting very little fuel from 2,3 and 4 it is just a little trickle but no 1 is squirting about an inch. I'm guessing this is fucked?

Could this be causing the car to struggle to start?

the only fault code i can get is p0251 (Injection pump fuel metering control a)

I know these injectors have to be coded to the ecu but i was wondering if i got another injector will the car run? I just want to test if it starts first time. Or does it need to be coded to run?

Any help/advice would be great.

Alright mate, the best option is whip all 4 injectors out, (make sure you number them) and get them tested. hopefully your pump is ok. if its just a dodgy injector the tester should be able to repair it, if not he should be able to supply a recon. dont worry about codes, i had 3 original injectors and 1 exchange, and after a few mile the ecu learned it.

Also the tester will check for swarf and fingers crossed your pump is ok. what milage is the car on?
just look for a delphi specialist in your area.

is it pre 05? tdci ford are notorious for pump & injectors around the 100k mark.

the pump usually breaks down and puts swarf in injectors, and the whole lot needs changing. i spent Ł1500 hundred on repairing mine.
