madevelopments,

Looks like I have been miss - informed then Mark.

I know you didnt build the engine and can only tune it for what is
built but I "hear" it runs 2.7 bar of boost on race fuel to get this power.

Evening all, the power and torque graphs are on their way. It took ages to get home in the Mondeo estate, the cossie engine was in the back, I only wish it was driving the rear wheels. That would be

Thanks to Mark (mapping)

Thanks to Karl (head is awesome mate)

The engine did 639bhp easily, there is plenty left for later

Neil, 2.7 bar sounds like alot of boost to me !!

The Norris Designs built YB engine did 632 bhp @ 2.0 bar on the same fuel !

Yeah, you only sell to Martians and other extra-terrestrials but in the real world that dont pay the bills. Maybe if you widened your clientele and listened to what the market wants your business would rise, Phoenix like, from out of the shitter where it is now.

The boost pressure is totally irrelivent if its not the same spec

Providing it wasnt past the realms of reliability id rather run a slightly smaller turbo at higher boost for a nicer powerband (lowerr boost threshold) than a bigger laggier turbo at lower boost

You seem to hear a lot of things but never name the source or is it from your head maybe?

Also just to maybe explain to people what i meant better, it might not be a smaller turbo, it could be milder cam specs, or smaller ported head.

Either way, more boost (as long as youve specced the rest so more boost is reliable) is the BEST way of having a nice powerband for the power you want.
Say for example, id rather run 2.7bar boost and nice mild cams that still give decent low RPM power than 2.2bar boost and some fucking insane cams that give me bugger all power till 5000rpm+.

Kinda like Rods old RS500 engine, might run 40psi boost to get the same power as most peoples "RS500" spec engines, but was fuckloads more driveable even tho it had the same truck T4 like everyone elses.

In my eyes for a nice to rive car, spec it right so you can let the TURBO do the work.

IMO!

If you belive the quality of headwork is relavent to the power you get from a certain boost pressure it shows how little you must know...

And i dont even like karl so dont think im sticking up for him, im just sticking up for the truth...

What ever the boost pressure it runs,
there is no doubt the dyno graph shows this will be a mighty fine performer.

Thanks very much mate, Karl is an engine designer, a mapper, the heads I have had from him have been fantastic. I will continue to use Karl for my heads and other special items.

Mark is one of the most knowledgeable, and professional people I have ever met, Autronic is a top class product, is proven and the after sales back up (whether purchased from Mark or myself) should be and will be spot on.

I build engines plain and simple. If you come to me for an engine build you will more than likely have a combination of some of the finest talents in the business FACT. (said some not all before some of you start).

So Tiff I would have to say yes.
