can anyone help me, I have a problem with my rs engine- when im driving at low revs it is fine then soon as I get the turbo in it starts missing?? Its recently had new kent cam, fuel filter spark plugs dizzy cap and rotor arm plus k&n, any ideas guys?

Boost cut? Is it chipped?

 

what you mean boost cut mate,

 

it is chipped, It used to do it with the old cam in- i hit the limiter one nite and it backfired and cleared , but since the new cam went in its come back,

 

my mate did the timing, he works for historic rally sports , so is trustworthy

 

Boost cut us when the boost is greater than the limit set by ecu.

 

so, does that mean its boosting too much? should i try turning the boost down a bit, not sure what its boosting at but dont think its high, just put the engine into a van

 

Get a tuner to set it up for you or it could end in tears.

 

did you gap the plugs

 

just spoke with my mate now he took the it to work today to have a good look at it and when he took spark plug 2 out it was coverd in oil, plus the engine is getting hot, ? would this explain the missing he reckons head gasket or the oil seal has gone

 

do any of you guys know what problem is when the plugs oil up

 

well oil is getting in the bore

does it smoke at all

can only be
stem seels
rings
head gasket

do a comp test and water pressure test they can tell you alsorts

 

Or running too rich ?

 

he did say it was smoking a bit, he took it into the garage at work noticed the temperature was getting high so he says he checked the plugs they were oily- tried starting it up then and it wouldn`t
