Hi all,

i know nothing about cars but my husband's ford focus has just started having problems with the dashboard. The brake and engine warning lights have come on but the temperature gauge isn't working. The indicator lights are working but they aren't flashing on the dashboard. Please say it's nothing too serious/expensive. Any help really appreciated.

I seem to remember something about these dash's having problems on watchdog, iirc?

 

I think your clocks might need changing.

 

The "Watchdog" feature many years ago, was a minor problem, the symptons of this was when the ignition is switched off the temp and fuel gauges would "Spring" back, they still work perfectly fine though.

I would look toward the GEM unit, see if it's logged any faults, but ultimatly I would say the instrument cluster is faulty from the symptoms you have mentioned.

What generation Focus is it?
