I have an RS2000 4x4 Mk6 and the revs are fluctuating. Sometimes the car will be fine and keep at constant revs and then other times the revs will drop well below 1000rpm causing the car to stutter and nearly stall does anyone have any ideas of what maybe causing this problem ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the advice I have cleaned the air idle control valve and the rev fluctuation is much better. It still drops revs but a lot less of a drop than before.
Any1 any other suggestions ?

Could be an air leak.
As a quick test, with the engine idling, un-plug the ISCV's electrical plug, the engine should stall, if it struggles on, then you have an air leak somewhere between the throttle butterfly and the inlet valves.
