not sure off top my head. Not listed on ETIS or the rally motorsport engine info either.

Im sure shawspeed or swindon race engines will know as they build race Zetec SE's and swindon used to build the kit car rally engines as well as the zetec SE's used in formula fords.

Yes they probably do know, lol

I just wondered how it compared to the 137mm for the 1.6 engine which gives a 1.68 rod ratio with the 81.4mm crank
I know the extra capacity comes from the piston size going up from 79-80 and the crank from 81.4 to 83.5.
But I was wondering if they used the same rod and just moved the piston pin higher, or if they kept the piston pin at the same height and shortened the rod by 1.05mm

wouldnt know without stripping one apart

maybe try on pumapeople and look for member "turby" as he built a turbo one from scratch including new rods and pistons so i suspect he'd know exactly how it was done.

Might be worth a post over on zsoc.com. Either that or get on the phone to Jon at Shawspeed.

Am amazed there dont seem to be any technical details of these engines published online, its trivial finding this info out for other engines.

Dont really want to phone up companies to waste their time when im not buying anything from them.

chip, ford probably never openly published the data like for other engines. It was originally designed as a throw away engine hence you still cannot buy rebuild parts for the bottom ends from ford, you have to go via other places who did race engines or similar and had the data.

Fair enough, I'll get Tank Mike to measure one next time he has one in bits, he's normally got them lieing around anyway as he does so many puma engine conversions on fiestas and the like
