Ok I'm reading the paper a spot a little bit about skoda celebrating 10yrs of the vrs models what they did was take a octavia tune it to 500bhp then fly it to the salt flats in the USA and do 202.15mph thats pretty good
brunters is not eh be all and end all of all top speed testing is it ?
Brunters is just a place to see how fast your car can accelerate in 1.5 miles. Other cars may take longer to reach their top speed so it would not be possible to do a top speed run on those cars at brunters.
If we had a usable bigger distance here I'm sure we'd all use it! Anyhow how mucho does it cost to get a car to the salt flats and back??
I'm sure that's true,no doubt about it. And it would be fascinating given how fast that Skoda went with under 600 bhp.
I always will regard brunters as an acceleration test more than a top speed test as cars that run there never reach their true top speed potential due to being geared to optimise within it's confines.
It's a great test and really fascinating, but not a topspeed test in the true sense , ie a two way pass over a mile
