Maybee because they are 17" on the real car and 18" on mine

Again , as i wasnt trying to replicate the car 100% i went for 18 rather than 17

Yo uactually said a little more than that

Quote

Profile of the outer section of the centre looks totally different to me, it appears to be flat on your car, and shaped on the gold ones. Meaning that the lattice section in the middle of yours sticks out a lot more, its even more obvious from different angles.

Was looking at it at ford fair and something didnt look right about them and it took a while put my finger on what it was.

Car looks great though other than that, nice to see it there

Unquote ,

You are infact actually saying you looked at other wheels and still thought they were wrong when infact they arnt , lol

Dont be soppy.

It was me if you look in the other thread telling him to post up the vernier pictures and proove it was just an illusion as I believed paul said it that it must have just been an optical effect.

Why would I care one way or the other if what looked wrong at a glance was or not, I wasnt claiming to have taken measurements or anything, its more likely that the optical effect of them looking wrong is down to the fact that they are of course a totally different size in the first place.

The centers ( that you said were wrong ) are exactly the same size ,

But it wasnt a glance , you said you even looked at others and still said mine were wrong ,

And as quoted above , " obvious " you say

I joined the thread because I thought if I joined in you would throw your toys out of the pram, so I made out I had been looking at your car in depth at ford fair when I didnt even see it up close to back tony up as I knew it would annoy you, and I bet myself I could even get you posting pictures of the wheels with a measure etc.

I was VERY right about you, and made up the bits about the wheels that you think I was wrong about, if someone had asked me before the picture was posted I couldnt have even told you what colour the wheels were as I paid so little attention to them

I even made a point of saying your car looked great as I understand the psychology of the northern monkey enough that for you to really take the bait there would have to be a compliment about your car in there too, as otherwise you take your toys home and dont comment at all rather than just throwing them out of the pram

I know you better than you know yourself.

Dont know your car at all though, as I have no interest in replicas

Indeed we are, and here is the reaction you'll get from me if I am actually wrong about anything that matters:

People dont get me at all if they think I would argue against the truth, its all I ever strive for TBH im quite OCD about it in fact.

In the picture posted, your wheels did LOOK like they were the wrong centre offset, so I just went with that to join in the fun.
The picture isnt representative obviously going by your measurements since, but I am genuinely telling you the truth that the rest of what I said was just to draw you into a debate, until you mentioned it to Tony I hadnt noticed anything about your wheels at all, I dont know or claim to know anything about the original RS500 touring cars anyway so Im sure I would be wrong on all sorts of details of what on yours is accurate or not.

The centre locks though, those are definately wrong and the bolts holding the too halves together have far too much overhanging bolt out of the nut and the wrong colour washers, they are red and should be silver to be in keeping with the theme on the gold wheel

Paul, seriously, Im not going to sit and here and post to say that yes really I studied your car at ford fair and everything I wrote was serious just cause you want me to cause that actually WOULD be wrong as that didnt happen.
My comments as I have already said were just winding you up based on the picture, thats the only thing I can say about it as that is reality, I didnt even look at your wheels at ford fair let alone happen to make the same observation that Tony did, are you really daft enough to believe that I spent ages studying your car and then with my ZERO knowledge of what the real ones looked like anyway decided yours were wrong!

I didnt even know they were meant to be 17" instead of 18"

Not taking it seriously at all mate, Ive already explained that I was only on the windup so cant quite work out what about that is so hard to believe.

The fact I openly admit to knowing nothing at all about the details of the original RS500 touring cars wheels should be a good enough clue that I didnt really walk past the car and get all nerdy like you did about what offset the wheel centres should be.

Far from taking it seriously, I find it genuinely hilarious that he really thinks I know enough about the RS500 touring cars in the first place to have the first clue how the wheels should sit or not

Ok, I admit it, I was wrong about the wheels after hours of studying them in detail at ford fair, and I do in fact have a totally encyclopedic knowledge of every aspect of the original RS500 touring cars, in fact it was me not Tony that worked on them, I also piloted several of them to victory and it was me that really commented on the wheel and I just told Tony to say it was him

Are you happy now my inaccurate replica building northen friend?

no matter how you try your best to make it look good for you , you cant

You tried to be your usuall clever self and had an epic FAIL ,

Nobody will believe that it was all an atempt to annoy me , i have had a few pm"s from folk saying they think this thread is awsome simply because you dont look a twat for being wrong ,you look a twat for trying to get out of being wrong

Leave it chump and step away from the computer for an hour and gather your thoughts and calm down , its only Passionford

at people caring so much if I am wrong or not about what offset a touring car I know nothing about should have on its wheels that they start PM'ing you about it.

I think those people probably need to have a bit of a look in the mirror if they are looking for a twat

As ive said above, I noticed nothing about your wheels, I know nothing about the RS500 touring cars and I was just joining in to wind you up, if you or anyone else doesnt believe that you are welcome to your opinion but that IS me coming clean about the subject!

and lol @ it being me you think is taking it too seriously, ive been genuinely giggling the whole way through both threads

And you are STILL biting cause you fell for the windup enough that you just cant actually accept that it was a windup.

Seriously, sit back and think about it, why the fuck would I be at ford fair studying your wheels and why would I have any clue what offset the centre was meant to be?
Do you really take your car so seriously you think I would be doing that, I hardly looked at a car all day let alone yours I was just there to socialise mainly.
