Default Ford Fair - Remaining Track Time

There is some track time available on the day – and tickets for the 20 min sessions cost £35 and can be bought from the Brooklands Centre.

The sessions available are:

20x @ 9am (Intermediate)
1x @ 11.20am (Advanced)
2x @ 1.20pm (Classic Fords Only)
8x @ 1.40pm (Novice)
5x @ 4pm (Intermediate)
4x @ 4.20pm (Intermediate)

PLEASE NOTE: These sessions are for FORDS ONLY, and you MUST attend the briefing exactly one hour before the session is due to start, unless you have attended a prior briefing on the day. The 9am session's briefing is at 8.10am.

Get to the Brooklands centre as early as possible to buy your track time, as the remaining places always sell out fast. The Brooklands Centre opens at 8am.

i was out on the novice session last year, and there were plenty of peeps who were out there is properly fast machinery, so how do we know that we will be out with like abled individuals?

my point being that i was able to outbrake everyone out on the circuit with me so i had to pay more attention than i would on the road, and i don't think a 400 bhp focus rs would be classified as a "novice"

but other than that, i'll be buying sunday morning

Whether you're on track with novices, or experienced drivers, as long as everyone obeys the track ettiqutte then there will be no problems! We can't vet everyone's individual driving ability and pair everyone up.

Does the novice/intermediate etc not refer to the driver's ability, rather than their car?

Just a guide so people can go in sessions where they won't be surrounded by experienced drivers who are flying past them, or where fast drivers won't be getting stuck behind slower people who don't know what they're doing.

You'll never get it 100% of course, but it should make it a bit more balanced I should think.

A clear message to both of you that you should have a Ford instead

As far as I know you're meant to go in your designated briefing - but I can't see any reason why you can't go to an earlier one. I'd check at the Brooklands Centre when you first get there.

Yes, it's the driver's ability. But Silverstone's such a big wide circuit, that it's not hard to get past much slower cars without any bother - as long as everyone plays by the rules.

There will be a handful of non-Fords who got through the net early on, but the vast majority of the cars will be Fords.

but that's relying on the drivers being honest...

any time you want, but the briefing takes about 20 minutes plus you have all the signing on stuff before hand and eventually you get the little wrist strap which then allows you to go out on track, without that the strap they won't let you out
