Headgasket failure "update"
I have had some reason to think I'm starting to get some issues with my headgasket with a small amount of mayo on the dipstick, I just checked my water and its gone down a small amout but it also stinks of either fuel or oil,
Is it time for a strip down
Thanks.
Steve

DIY mate, the engines are SO easy to do on these, you would be incredibly silly not to get the block deck skimmed to ensure it's perfectly flat, I run 8.2:1 CR myself, just had it mapped, going fantastic, that was a DIY build, they seriously easy the sort of engine a yts trainee would get given to learn on!!

Also just noticed some oil around the back of the comp housing where it bolts up, what would cause this?

Usually a build up of carbonised oil pushing the seal plate outwards, very common issue.

just as tab said steve ,just like skimmming the head making sure the block is 100% flat, eradicating headgasket failure again hopefully
