I got a saxo vts as a swap the tax ran out at the end of june it had just a few weeks mot left so i got the mot done which luckily cost less than the tax will happydays.will i need to tax the car on monday or can i do it sat as i am going away monday and was hoping to set off before the post office would be open so was thinking could it be taxed on satuarday for the tax to start on the 1st anyone know can't do it online as have no docs back for the car yet cheers

yes you can tax it this saturday!

afaik you can renew it from the 15th day of the month.

i always thought you HAD to wait for the 1st of the month as the tax is valid as soon as you hand it over, and therefor can only be sold in that particular month?

i once arranged to collect a car on the 29th

No, they give you basically 2 weeks so there is no excuse i suppose! lol

If the car has no tax currently, then iirc you cannot buy the tax until the 1st or it will include the month you are in so basically lose a month....

If car IS taxed... You can buy new disc before old one expires by a fair few days.....
