hi peeps me again, got a very good friend who works for VW and he was in today on overtime. we put the car on VAG COM and found these fault codes -

00527 intake manifold sensor - it was broken off :-(

00533 Idle Speed Regulation - yes it idles bad and cuts out sometimes (tried several idle valves and does it) :-(

also we put a probe up the exhaust and the high idle (2500rpm) emmisions are very high and the low idle emmisions are high.

so if anyone could help that would be fantastic

 

Try cleaning out the throttle body with carb cleaner, delete fault codes, reset the basic settings and run an adaptation with the vag com.

Then see where you are from there....
