FAO rear engine mk4 escort people
How is the gear linkage worked around?
Thought about this briefly last night after a proposition of a road legal two seater buggy with a broken gearbox and rubbish engine.
I have a spare MFi cvh from my 3i including all fuel system etc. Basically entire front end.
Was going to buy buggy cheap and fit the lot, but couldnt work out how to get the rod changer to work from infront of the engine as it'd be mounted at the back.
Info/Pictures/help appreciated, i know theres a good few out there with RWD conversions using the old 'weld the inner wings over the rear turrets and bolt everything in' method.

I've found a thread of white one being built and he posted a picture of the linkage. I had thought about the way it was done but i thought it wouldnt work.
Turns out it works just fine, since the movement is still the same. Looks dead easy to modify the rod to go backwards. I was thinking too much into it instead of thinking simple.
