fitting a rev counter on an a mk3 fiesta?

Default fitting a rev counter on an a mk3 fiesta?

a friend of mine has asked how to fit a rev counter on a 1.1 HCS fiesta mk3 and i actually am not sure, i dont think it runs a coil so how would you do it?

it will run a coil pack take the tacho feed off that, not sure which wire but its deffo possible

im sure its possible haha, on the mk1 i just took a green wire to the coil, black wire to earth and a red one to power it was actually that easy, but i havent even looked in the bay of the mk3.5 yet so no idea lol

You can take a feed from the EDIS I believe. I'm pretty sure that's what we did when the tacho packed up in the 1.3 HCS Fiesta a friend had for a while. Was a good few years ago though

Just dug this out of some docs I have:

4 cylinder EDIS module pinout Signal

PIP (EDIS output signal) 1
IDM (diagnostic signal to ECU) 2
SAW (ECU spark control signal) 3
IGN GND (signal return) 4
VRS - (crank sensor negative) 5
VRS + (crank sensor positive) 6
VRS shield (crank sensor shield) 7
VPWR (ignition switched 12 volts) 8
PWR GND 9
COIL 1 (coil drive) 10
CTO (clean tach out) 11
COIL 2 (coil drive) 12
