Silverstone Sunday!!!
Hi all, I'm going to the F1 Grand Prix this weekend but just for the race on sunday. It was a present for my dads 50th birthday.Just wondering what time would be a good time to get there in the morning.I've heard it gets really busy really quick.Just want to hear your advice on the best time to arrive at the track wihout getting to bored,to early. We;ve just got general admission tickets and my dads want to try and get as close to the track as possible. Thanks

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Get there for 5 if possible, I go most years and lately get grandstand tickets as you are guarenteed your seat even if you get there abit later (e.g say 10am).
But if you have general admission I would say get there as early as possible to get as close as possible, normally the gates open at 6am and there is normally a queue, so the best thing to do is check where you want to watch from, go to the closest gate and get there early, as the front rows (steps on general admission banks) fill up early.
I remember getting there for 5:50am with my dad one year and we wanted to watch from copse, when we got to the area we wanted the front was already 2 rows deep, we managed to get to the front as people got fed up and wanted to wander off, so it is worth being prepared to sit in that spot all day if you have to.

Ok thanks for your advice lads.I spoke to my dad and I think we're going to try and be there at the gates for 6.We've got a couple of fold up chairs and theres a few races before the grand prix so the wait shouldn't be to bad. Thanks for your advice and enjoy the race
