Default FAO - people in the know about 7.25" clutches etc

It seems pretty obvious but i would like someone to confirm for me anyway

The flywheel i have use to use an A'ring type 7.25" ap twin plate clutch so the adapter ring sat in the recess machined into the flywheel as in the pic below

Adapter ring seen here middle left of picture

Flywheel groove it fits into seen here

Now i have changed to a lug drive type 7.25" twin plate clutch and when all the plates are in place and the clutch is sat on the flywheel there is a gap below the lug mounts

This must mean i need a new flywheel with no recess correct? and the other flywheel is now only suitable for A'ring style clutches

Thanks
Marc

you need a new flywheel, without the recess, the flywheel you need has the area which the plates fit is raised,if you know what i mean,I dont have one on the shelf to show you a photo, but id you look on Burtons web site you can see what you need

Just bought new flywheel from Burton.

http://www.burtonpower.com/sc252.html

What they do to fit the ring, is to freeze down the flywheel and heat up the ring. Then they will fit.
If you know anyone who is welding or something, maybe he could fix it for you
