gearbox mount borken on way back from MOT
as i was driving back from my MOT today. (passed with no advisorys
) i went to reverse i jet the clutch out and bang clunk clunk clunk.
stopped and had a look underneath, couldnt see anything. opend bonnet and it had sheared off :@
had to get the AA to recover me 3 miles home
will it be ok to tig weld it back together >?

From 04 reg upwards. Ive done a few now. 2 of the bolts rip the threads out of the gearbox leaving 1 bolt holding the mount on then the mount cracks and the gearbox falls onto the sub frame this causes the drive shaft boot to get damaged. So are you just gonna get a new mount for yours then.

fuck sake, we have a 08 combo 1.3 cdti
dose that mean teh gearbox is fubar ? or can it be re tapped ?
idk, depends how much they are, as im skint. might just get it tig welded back together.
