what I have found so far is:

when fitting the zetec blacktop to the mk4 escort you need to swap the blacktop sump for the silvertop escort/fiesta sump and pick-up pipe as the blacktop sump only caters for the rear mounted starter, while fitting this you need to swap the no.2 & no4 main journal bearing cap bolts for the silvertop ones as the silvertop sump requires the fitting of a separate steel baffle plate, as the silvertop main bearing cap bolts are longer you need some 20mm spacers to make the baffle plate sit at the correct hight and also allow the longer bolts to torque up without bottoming out in the threaded holes.

then after that your need to fit the silvertop 1.6/1.8 zetec escort/fiesta flywheel & clutch as the mtx one wont fit under the ib5 bellhousing, then after this you need to cut the mounting flange on the innerwing so the rear of the timing belt cover inc. the rear timing belt tensioner clears the engine mount also you will need to cut a portion of the alloy mid section of the timing belt cover away as the mk4 mount has a stud running through it that again fouls on it.

then to top that off the only m10 mounting hole in the back of the blacktop that is the same as the mk4 escort mount is the top one nearest the innerwing as the other 2 are miles away the way i got round this was to make a 3mm plate that replicated the engine then cut back the mk4 mount and weld the plate to the mount to create a mount that would bolt to the blacktop engine.

hope this helps.

also dont forget to lower tha alternator as it wil foul on the water pipe fit you dont, i fould using a alternator lowering kit sorted it no end.

after that you need to fit a idler wheel on the PAS bracket that way you can keep the water pump running in the right direction, i dont have any pics at the minute as thats as far as i have got so far, but i will have my kit made up this week.
