Default Repairing Alloy Rads...

Right then guys, I stupidly managed to run a drill bit into the front of my Airtec Rad (TWAT). Anyways ive managed to put a hole into part of the core. Is this repairable? Or shall I bend over and spend another £200 on a rad Pic below

hi its repairable ,but you
would have to cut the end tanks off ,weld up that bit of the core on the ends then weld tanks back on
so you lose that rail thats all as water wont flow through it but will be ok

surely you can remove the fins from the affected area this will give you the space to get the welder in to weld the hole up, a few missing fins wont effect it's efficiency noticebly

Not the case, needing to cut off the end tanks, I've repaired a lot worse than that, with 100% success, would just need to knock out the immediate surrounding fins as said, then tig welder out, may even need to bend the other nearby slats out the way, then bend back once cooled but is perfectly repairable.
