Buying advice on MK6 Escort Van? How reliable are the 1.8TD engines? Whats rust issues normally like and general maintenance? What prices roughly for one?

The TDDi engine is very robust, so you should not have too many woes there, but ask when the timing belt was changed, should be done at 150k.
They rust just about everywhere like the saloon's! So have a good poke around, especially underneath at the chassis rails, inner sills and floor pans.

And they tend to eat fuseboxes too.
The bodywork is shocking on these. In fact, they are fairly nasty to be honest.
You'd be better off with a transit connect if your budget can stretch to that.
