Default mk6 escort RS 2000

Hi,
Im quite new to the ford fraternity but I have just taken up club racing and am in the process of sorting out a 1996 ford escort RS 2000. it has a standard engine running with a superchipped ecu. are there any known engine issues as I seem to be blowing oil out of the crank case breather. is it best to run the breather pipe straight to an oil catch tank and the same with the rocker breather pipe?

thanks

When braking and then cornering hard, the standard system does tend to allow oil to escape up the crankcase breather. Best to run both to a separate catch tank.

The FWD RS2000's are well respected here, you'll get lots of helpful advice

Yeh it sounds like you need a catch tank.

Thanks for the great advice, I am also toying with baffling the sum too, as the tracks I use are normally very tight with lots of corners and lots of braking. I have fitted the Fiesta ST brakes to the car which have made a massive difference.

I have a separate catch tank, and have had no issues yet......

I have also not suffered from any oil starvation either with the standard sump, but maybe i'm not trying hard enough!!

Forgot to add, that you need to make sure the the top of the catch tank is higher then the top cam cover's breather.
