I took my cossie back to my garage this morning, on the way back I put my foot down in top gear and when it hit full boost it coughed a bit and then it wouldn't boost at all. I managed to get it off the dual carriageway and it was idling like a turd and I noticed it was pumping black smoke out on tickover. Had a quick look, no pipes blown off or anything obvious. I let it cool down for a couple of minutes and drove it back. Over a few minutes of driving it gradually got better and pretty much back to normal. I didn't boot it any more as I didn't want to break anything expensive. What am I looking at here? I was thinking a possible map sensor? It doesn't help that my secs monitor died the other day!!! Arregggghhhhh!!!!

Edit:btw its not a dig at you but it does kind of get on my nerves when people ask for help on a thread and dont disclose what they have done to cure it.

maybe because people have a life and go to work so you need to wait for someone to see the problem who can help so stop being so impatient i have waited a few days before for advice!

 

Maybe no one knows what is wrong? I'm sure it would get on your nerves more having pages and pages full of people saying 'no idea mate'.

map sensor was fudged

 

Didn't think of that, would have gone into limp mode and overfuelled as a procaution.

 

I'd have said bat n ball had gone mate or it definitely spat the dummy out


Failing that I would have said map sensor.......
