I heard Specky mangled his turbo too

 

its wreck the lot am affriad the only thing that i can use again out off engine is the cams..

am not 100% sure wots happened i think a valve head as come off and then just mashed everything else

yes this was the new build too

 

The head of the valve has dropped off there must be a reason why it has come off, they don't just drop off mate.

 

the valves werent new one so we think they had there day.

 

Ive had that happen. TBH, I cant really think of anything that will cause more destruction in an engine !!!
It really is horrible.

I'd like to, but it's ever becoming less likely.

Car is in bits, and work is progressing far slower than I'd like. It's pretty well stripped, still more rust repairs to do and still needs painted afterwards !
I had wanted it to be painted by now, but struggled in sourcing some panels I needed and it would have been too difficult to try and fabricate the one I really needed.
I have it now though.
But painting is likely to take a fortnight or so. Then it's putting everything back together.
Was mostly this lower wheel arch bit !
Why the fuck repair sections arent readily available for such a popular car is beyond me lol
Although generally the car is in excellent condition for the age. The rust was mostly where this quarter panel had been replaced early in the cars life.

 

if you ever need panels again you could try raymond bradley or kevin mc erlean, they deal in lot off that kind off gear, mostly mk2 s but maybe could sort you out or put you in the right direction,
it s a sin now that i think off it but we used to race these in the bangers in aghadowey

 

I did contact a couple of banger guys. They either said they couldnt remove that section I needed as they were still using the cars, or said that area was destroyed.
One said that despite him having some 12 cars or so.

I'd say he just couldnt be bothered though. Dont blame him really, it does sound like an odd request "can you please cut this section of car out for me ? " lol

Was only the outer lower wheel arch I need. I can repair the rest ok.

Strange that the two most successfull Cossies at TOTB street class were Gareth Lloyd & Mark. Gareth won his event & Mark gained a runners up spot . I entered the car so ignore the commentary.

2 Fords in the drag semi. Both beat all the Scooby's entered on the day & only Simons EVO managed a quicker time.
