The BD14 exhaust cam only works well on a very few specced engines and on most it doesnt work that well.

Yes Mark, you know what my bd14 was like, you said it was lazy coming on boost.I am 99% going back to a standard ex cam as you suggested, the bd14 is coming out for sure. Can only improve the car as you said before.

Thanks.Lee.

To much valve over lap ruins low speed trackability/torque

Long duration cams on ex can be problematic.

Not knowing much on the subject of cam choices I know Aaron at HT has put them in my engine.

Its far from standard though but sadly I dont have any graphs to use as a comparison against others.

So some are saying standard, some saying one with less duration

Well the bd15 has less duration than the 14, so would that make it a better choice ?

There is no way of actually telling without putting the engine on the dyno and seeing, move the timing to get the best gains etc, not just a case of put it in and expect it 500rpm later as it will depend on the engine itself

Ive just found my spare standard exhaust cam and Im thinking about changing it from the BD14 Ive got in there at the moment.

Spec is..

0.5 std comp with pockets
Std rods
Std/std crank
27mm inlet ports
25mm exhaust ports
BD16 inlet cam
BD14 exhust cam
T4 turbo

What exhaust cam would work best with that spec? Its a road only car, driven like a dick 95% of the time Im in it
