Default 1800 cvh sierra conversion ideas??

Hey, I picked up an f reg sierra the othe week, the bodywork on her is spotless but the engine has definitely seen better days, its completely gutless! Bit thick with all this but does anyone know what would be a reasonable engine swap for a bit more power etc? Cheers, matt

I would personally go for a Pinto myself, as they came with them it shoulden't be to hard to fit, possibly need different mounts. These are very tunable and not expensive to buy!

There are plenty of other options, i.e 24V Boa/Bob, Zetec (If you don't mind doing alot of work), twinky but the above would be my pick and plus it's the easiest to get running if keeping to the carb setup and possibly will mount to the type 9 gearbox you currently have, if they diden't already?

pinto it mate you will need to lengthen the starter motor wires as the starter is on the wrong side on the cvh. i would keep it simple to start with just get it running on a carb etc. then later add a cam and twin 40/45`s you also have to think about exhaust and manifold. bullet proof engine and way better than that cvh

Shoulden't need a loom, it's just a basic setup, simply use the existing ignition system, fuel pump is mechanical as well, unless going EFI.

Yes good point about exhaust as they are on opposing sides, the Pintos on the right and the CVH on the left.
