Default anyone good with supercharger compressor maps?

as title, whats this good for on your average 2.0 engine roughly at a sensible pressure?

M62's are fine on a 2.0.

Mine ran 310bhp on a 9.5:1CR ST170 engine, ported head and Powerworks kit @ 1.0 bar of boost.

You will need to intercool it though as the air charge temps do get high. The PW kit was chargecooled and kept on top of it but I know the Jackson Racing kits weren't and they were only good for around 0.5 bar of boost and hitting 240bhp ish.

Look at different blowers, those M series Eatons aren't very efficient

the TVS series from eaton are much more eficient.

a guy on migweb used an M90 on a C20XE and made a lot of power with it. havent got the link but ive seen it mentioned on there.

to convert eaton maps to compare with turbo maps,

100 (m^3/hr) is equal to 4.445 LBS/MIN air flow.

P.S. this is purely in as much as compresser flow is concerned. obviously not the only variable for working out the power availible.

from this you can work out that 300hp worth of flow is approx 674 m^3/hr (in the same way that LB's a minute of flow on turbo compresser maps can be approximated into horsepower)

hence you can see that with the M62 charger, at 674 m^3/hr (300BHP) its nearing its limit in turms of efficiency falling off rapidly and as Will Pedly rightly said, this correspond's with a dramatic rise in inlet temps that need to be delt with if you want to push the compresser that hard.

cheers for the info lads

i know the m62 isn't going to be the most efficient, but i'm only planning a budget build with reasonable power, so it sounds like it should do me fine! something a little bit different too

just a simple spec zetec, roughly 8.5:1, ported head with big valves, not alot else to it really. this build is on a tight budget
