Depends which ones you are talking about, many different ones, I favour and use the
Hankook Ventus Evo V12 K110, I need at least 1 set of rears a year so get to try lots of different tyres, but different tyres work different on different cars.
The "kookies" are so quiet, very long lasting ace in the dry and ace in the wet, don't whiteline, but do take a bit of getting used to as sidewalls are softer than most other tyres of the same sort, so feel a bit "squidgy" to start with, I just put extra 3 psi in mine to counter this.

just put these on my saph 2wd marangoni zeta they are an italian motorsport tyre wicked tread pattern. kwick fit got a good offer on with them to they are guaranteed for the first 3 months for punctures and other things. im sure if you talk nice to the kwik fit manager they would sort out a claim for you only used them today but seam very good.
do a google search for marangoni zeta tyres

I'm suprised people rate the ku31.
I had these on my vr6 and hated every minute of them, they're just too hard and don't really grip when giving it some.
Have now switched to dunlop sport sp 01's and they're totally different and so much better than a ku31 in every way imaginable.
(they are however double the cost of a ku31, but worth it imho)

The most important thing to make sure of when buying tyres is to get the load rating right. Most companies selling the tyre cheaper are selling the same tyre but with the wrong load index for your car. Thats why you tend to ask a specialist and say "How Much"? when they give you the price.
Interesting article on tyres, but I'd still rather people be on decent treaded cheap tyres than worn out premiums if they're anywhere near me.
Budgets exist for a reason-budget, no point in top notch tyres unless needed, due to car/driver imo.

Had Pirelli p zeros on my ST150 before I fit the Maxxis and cant find a difference wet or dry. And they are half the price! so why not...
But on the other side, my saff came with some budget tires in standard size and they were dangerous in wet! Had a serious s**t my pants situation with them!
