Hi all have an st lump in the coog but it has no engine numbers its not tamper with it looks basically unstaped to me ,would this be a replacement due to a recall ? as the number given to me by the breaker from the reg doc is the same as the ecu ID as iv checked this with my code reader any idears thanks.

i have had engines with no stamp but you must have a reciept to say so who you bought it from.

 

In my xr4i the engine had a ground off engine number, so when I re-registered it's new engine it said unknown, you don't, or didn't some years back need a receipt to prove the engine was yours, I even had my mate steve, a traffic cop look at it for me to see if it could be retrieved, but couldn't, I think you're safe unless a high value car, but who knows with dvla these days!!
