focus 1.8 tdci turbo failure??

focus 1.8 tdci turbo failure??
hi all,
as above blowing out loads of smoke out exhaust and lot of engine oil in intake pipes between turbo and intercooler,
turbo knackered?
possible to repair?
is it just o-rings that seals it?
turbo seems to be part of exhaust manifold,
had a look at prices and seem quite expensive for new one,
its a mates car and hes hoping i can fix it as cheaply as possible,
its an 03 plate,
any help much appreciated

normally find the turbo will go in the bin just use your manifold and vanes[vnt] [if the turbine wheel has'nt hit them]
i did one a month ago again 89.000 miles bit of a job getting it out
