Default How heat resistant is powder coating ?

Just wondering if any one could tell me how heat resistant powder coating is?

I want to get the exhaust manifold/turbo heat shield powder coated and wondered if it would be ok and would not be affected by the heat.

Thanks Dave

i would say that it would be to hot as powder coat is baked in a oven at approx 191degree,s celsius so if your manifold gets hotter than that it would not last .

As said way way too hot for powder, you could get a similar finish though with CERAMIC coating, which will take the heat all day long.

I powder coated for 2 years, window frames for d/glazing, and did some of me own parts, when boss wasn't looking!!
They will not in a million years take exhaust heat, ceramic was developed for this very application.
