I was going to arrange to ship my box to him this week, now I'm worried!
Always seemed ok on email though, I didn't have any reservations until I saw this thread, hope you get it sorted.

The problem is they don't answer to mails, phone or fax... you maybe get an answer after 2 or 3 weeks... and then you wait again...

they built my gearbox about 3 years ago and I waited for months!!

@Romain: you have to work better on the service of your customers!!!! it really fucks me up!!!!

@rog: actually, the gear kits are ok... but you will have to wait for several months... unfortunatly...

just one tip: if you take a full straight gear kit, I suggest you to keep the 5th gear semi straight.... it is far far to loud!

What are you after?

Power gears in Birmingham did me a first rate service. I bought an IB5 gearbox off them and they fitted my LSD to it. Still going strong nearly 3 years later. They do all sorts of services of your interested.

Thanks all.
I have been having correspondance with Romain for a few weeks about a gearkit for my 4x4 MT75 box, now in a position to send a box away to get the kit and have him fit and return to me, but i still have to decide on the ratios. He did say to me several times he is a very busy guy, so it fits with what youre saying, he's probably just taken too much on to cope with.

honestly... I just need a short information... I even prepared a form (!!!!!!) which he just has to fill out... nothing....

Right now, I really regret that I bought this fucking gearbox... I worked 5 years on my car and I must have replaced the 5th gear and now I can't use my car... and this is BULLSHIT (!!!!)

I understand, if someone is busy and can't reply immediately... but NOT WEEKS or MONTHS (!!!!!!)

Maybe just one more thing to say:

What is more important? To post videos and pics of his Gatebil travel here on passionford and youtube? Or to take care of his customers?

about time delivery, dont make confiusion between 2007-2008 when we started tyo make gearkits and now 2012

we have in stock 2 std ratio kits and 1 short ratio

we still take 3 weeks to return the gearbox

if you need something quick just buy the gear kit

sorry for the inconvenient

Ok... Romain told me that he is going to check my needed parts with his gear supplier...

So right now it seems he takes care of me

I told him that I expect his soonest reply. It can't take long time to get some information of a supplier...

Actually I haven't seen that you also posted here in the thread.

I' sorry for that... Further I misunderstood your last mail and I thought you have to wait for a reply of your gear supplier. Sorry again. I don't want to be unfair

Nevertheless:

I choose the 0,772 one.

You already told me the price.

Just one last question I also asked in my past mails:

Do you have this set already in your workshop? Or do you need to order it?

Thanx Romain!

Cheers

Cyril

It really does suck when you have to publicly post up, to get parts delivered

Open letter to Romain Oppliger

Romain,

After more then 3 weeks I give it up to receive any kind of support or spare parts from you.

Seriously, I never had such a bad support like you give.
This hard ignorance of any kind of communication (mail, phone calls, fax) is just impertinent and insulting.

I really can’t understand how someone could act like that and how you are able to earn money.

I pray that my gearbox will never crack, because then I must throw it away because it seems to be impossible to get support/parts from you.

Due to this thread, I got some mails from others who also had the problem in the past and it is a common problem of the company Oppliger, and not only 2 or 3 years ago!

Romain: I am really disappointed of your way of acting. This was my first and my last part I bought from you.

Actually, I found a company here in Germany who will work on my counter shaft in order I can put on a stock MT75 helical 5fth gear.

Don’t be afraid: You will never hear anything again from me…

That’s it

Cyril

Seriously: How can I consider that you are closed if it is not mentioned on your website or in any message from you? That would be much easier for the people or for me to understand. Nevertheless... You are a company owner... Like I am... And I ALWAYS check my mails of my customers. Maybe the italiens have a different mentality, I don't know.
This is what we call service and support...

I simply asked days ago if you have the parts on stock because friends of mine are on holydays near to you and they have the possibility to fetch the parts... I still wait for this reply...

This is what I sent you the 25th (!)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Romain,

do you have it on stock and can it be sent out immediately?
If not, how much time will it take to send them?

What about the payment? Do you send with the parts an invoice and I pay it when I get the package or must I prepay them?

regards

Cyril

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't get a reply until now...

Romain, Please understand my point of view...

I think that it takes the piss that someone has to have a moan about it on here!

Few of my mates have bought parts from oppliger , not gearboxes but they have had bo problems at all!
there is always gonna be one or 2 people with bad experiences,
Get over it!!!

He is obviously a very busy man!
You got your gearbox so stop moaning!

Rant over!

Keep up the HARD WORK Romain

After talking with you over the last few weeks I sent you a mail last week confirming I was going to take a box and for you to arrange collection of mine and supply payment details, but I think I will go the Bara route now because I am very concerned I will not see the box for months after I have ordered it.
I'm glad you are busy, but you could be a lot busier and more profitable if you could handle more clients.
