the white police 200's were not numbered, they were police cars, not limited edition. most of them were fitted with Ghia-X leather front seats, not recaro's, as the cars were traffic cars, and the police wanted the Ghia-X leather as its more comfortable than the recaro's the normal 200's come with.

As for the LTD's, options, were not an option so to speek, they were all top spec, and all 300 sold quickly, hence, not a lot of sitting around waiting to be sold, as is usual with limited edition cars, there is demand for them over the standard cars. this has been looked into by not just me, but a lot of other people, who own LTD's, and a lot of mondeo clubs, and non of them were numbered as they came off the production line, regardless of when they were sold/registered, so non of them are numbered by build, so if the car has a build number badge, it doesnt mean it came of the production line in that order.

the way ford did it, all the badges should have said 1 of 300, rather than a specific number of 300

I think in the first instance to narrow it down, I'll only be doing models which have a definitive model run, so at least we know how many we are dealing with.

I may even trim it down to just models which have been given a limited edition number. I'll be here all year otherwise

Wonder how many escort RS1800s are left? Pretty sure Liverpool police had a special order of 12 mk2 escort mexicos as 4 doors, and there's the escort goldcrest (coolest coluorscheme ever IMO), and fiesta mk1 supersports were pretty rare, don't really know about numbers.

the Perana, savage and broadspeed where built by outside companys not ford, xr4ti was a mekur xr4ti not a sierra, and was a normal production car for america, to look at it was the same as a xr4i, but was a 2.3 turbo, never heard of a 2 door mk3 granada, plenty of 2 door mk1/mk2 granadas

mk5 cortina "carousel" was another limited edition..out at the same time as a cortina crusader (my sister drove one - it was a 1.6 auto, so i asked to confirm it all incase it was a crusader)

and for people who think that "john player special" capris existed! THEY DIDNT EXIST!!!!!!!!!! At the time of release there was a limited edition capri that sported the same colours as a john player special f1 car...so it was dubbed "jps capri".........when in fact the edition was known as the "FORD CAPRI MIDNIGHT"

I had a rare mk11 granada 2.8i sport. Recaro's, bilsteins, rear arb and pearl white wheels as standard. Believe about 400 saloons and 200 estates. I miss that car!

Mk5 LS with the recaros is even rarer but an option pack not a limited model really ?
Mk2/3/4 cab = crayford, Mk5 cab = carbidies
cortina Mk5 Huntsman or carousell were limited editions though
The savage MK2/3/4/5 cortinas like the superspeeds were non factory so not sure they count?

I was going too say this,but the one my mate had was a 2.8 Special in blue.Manual box recaros,front bib spoiler,rear spoiler etc.Also the the mk1 mex estate as already mentioned.Out of the "special editions" some people have mentioned,they were just crap end of the line things.Saying that my mum had a Mk4 Escort 1.3MAGIC brand new (87) D plate.There was nothing magical about it,it was shit .Cant think of anything else for now.
EDIT : It must of been a 2,8 sport.Getting confused in my old age.
