Default Focus RS MK1 prices

Where do you see these heading? Have heard alot of people say they should climb after the next 2-3 years.

How much, generally, would you expect to pay for a sub 40k miles, 1 owner, good-excellent condition with service histroy example now?

And if garaged over say the next 3 years, not used, would you expect it to gain much? if at all.

This is not a for sale add, or how much is it worth. I dont own an RS, just wondering.

Thanks.

i think a good example will bump up in price in a couple off years, since they were all the same colour i think its more appealing to collectors rather than the mk2 that came in a few colours... maybe im wrong i dunno

From what i hear they can't give away the mk2 at the minute - garage next to my work has a mint Blue one in and they have dropped the price to the other side of 20 now so i would say as long as they go down the mk1 will continue to decrease.

The only bonus you have with newer RS's is that the majority have been used as daily hacks so have clocked up high miles so the low miler's will command more but i can't see them being anything that high - mate of mine Dan sold his last year for £12k and that was a concours winner.

i think they will float around the 7-10k mark for a few years yet.

i'm not sure exactly why, but i cant see them being as iconic as the escort cosworth (in the same way the sapphire is) so will therefore never demand really strong money

as a ballpark figure i reckon you'd get a sub 40k FRS is good nick for around £7.5k, dont go just on mileage, i picked my car up with 90k on it three years ago and it was mint (was then, isnt now ) but no-one would touch it due to the high mileage.

its done 110k now and still drives great

if you are in the market for one i would recomend buying modified as you will invariably do the usual mods and its easy to spend £5k upgrading it, and you'll never get it back

I couldn't find a sub 40k car in 'good' nick last summer when i bought mine so unless they've gone down dramatically now i think that's a bit low.....agree totally on buying one with the usual upgrades already in place though as it saves you a good chunk!
Having said that, seems to be a buyers market for them at the moment as there are plenty for sale, even with them being a limited run model!
Personally i still think you need to spend 9-10k to get a really nice one with a few mods and low miles.
