Default converting from cvh to zetec

Hi there, recently bought a very very clean mk5 escort 1.6 cvh efi cabriolet, got it for pennies still taxed and mot'ed but head gasket was gone, so i ripped head off, repaired the bugger sucsessfully and am using it as every day car now but am not happy with state of the engine it has a genuine 76k, 1 lady owner all the usual rubbish lol, it probably could be saved as only issue is an annoying flat spot but i rather stick a zetec in it, i have decided on a 1.6 zetec as i dont need performance, just something a bit more reliable and smoother..... i am competent at getting in there and having a go myself, just wandering if anyone is local to glastonbury who is also competent and experienced in this kind of conversion ( i will pay obviously) and also does anyone have any info to help me along the way.....most likely situation will be i buy a rotten mk6 and rrob the engine etc from that..... any issues i should be aware of etc

any help and info greatfull recieved

Personally for the work you will do drop a 1.8 or 2l... There are a few guides for mk4 but presume will be the same principle.

May as well stick the 2l in mate. The extra grunt might be useful and as it's from a rep mobile insurance is often quite cheap.

dont want 2.0 ,1.8 is a possibility but i am 26 not 12, i dont need nor want power, its a car for my missues and it just needs to be reliable, reason i dont want 2.0 is because i dont want to start messing with sumps and stuff, i rather just buy a running escort and swap the engine part for part, 1.6 reasoning is as she is 22 its £300 cheaper for her to insure also lol. was considering a fiesta rs turbo lump to
