Default focus st 2.5 bottom end rumble?

got one in work today that the boss has took in p/x.

he never even looked it over and it turns out its got a grumbling bottom end when you rev it up.

is this a common problem on these? are they easy to work on-never really had much to do with them.......what sort of prices are parts? second hand engines?

no idea what they are planning to do with it yet but they have asked me to have a look at it tomorrow....it needs a load of paint as well!

Only serious engine problems I've heard of is cracked liners, that would give similar symptoms to head gasket failiure. Have heard of a couple of cambelt tensioner failiures too, but not heard of any shagged bottom ends.

Sounds to me like it's been run low on oil or something?
