Default Turning sidelights of when headlights on

Hey people does anyone know if it's possible to stop the sidelights coming on when the headlight are on? I was thinking it may be to do with the switch in the car maybe disconnecting a wire but I'm only guessing. Any idears?

good idea. so that when your headlight bulb fails you'll have nothing on that side of the front of the car so oncoming traffic will mistake you for a narrow vehicle. very clever

Total waste of time. Don't see any need for this at all.

Cheers,

Because putting blue LED sidelights in and can't really have them on with headlights and if worst comes to worst and a bulb goes I can turn them on

really stupid idea but what u could do is wire in a normally closed relay so when the feed goes through it for dip beam it opens and shuts off the sidelights

You shouldn't have blue sidelights in anyway so quite why you would want to turn them off baffles me. If you want LED bulbs stick with the ordinary white ones so you don't stick out like a right turnip.

i thought it might be illegal, the police seem to pull people over with anything blue showing, as other drivers may think its a police vehicle

I thought only emergency vehicles could show blue lights and it was illegal for anyone else?

If you turn your side lights off, you'll probably find all the instrument lights and rear lights go off with them. Won't be long before you're rear ended.

It was more for when in not driving on the road and so the car looks good so it won't be illegal.

Can you explain how these would make the car look good ?

When I see a car with blue lights, I automatically think "look at that wanker"

Fire service and ambulances excluded of course.

If you buy anything that says blue on the packet its normally as blue as the sun

And anyway even if by some very slim chance it gave off any hint of blue your bright white headlights would drown it out
