A 150 shot on Top aint really required but a 75 hit comes in handy sometimes.

have i ever been in a 500bhp car traveling to and from work ,,,,,,,,,,,,, nope, how many other 600bhp cars are used for work ( not as a company demo vehicle btw )

my justifacation is 600bhp is not gonna be used on your journey to work, 110 miles each way is a fooking mission though mate , cant ever try and argue or say i know how that is as i complain about my 45 min journey to work

now back on the point, your saying the 600bhp is the prefered spec of a good work horse , why do all van drivers have diesels

and when are ya gonna need 600 bhp on the journey to work ai at all ever

you think ya you will get to work that much quicker on motorways than a stage1 cossie tpo make a differnence that much

the other thing id be concerned with is the fact that the conversion takes how long to compleate due to sooo many special parts and other various factors that io really cant see many people buying 600bhp cossies for a daily comute ( i could be wrong though, i also though betamax would be the one to have and i still have a BSB squariel as then 5 channels where british

i would mention my phillips DCC player as i love that as its a slide opening cassette player so im happy with that either way

now are you telling me that 600bhp is gonna be used every day as in the whole 600bhp not jsut the sticker and the autronic badges

just wondering and having a freindly banter about it as i must admit that 600bhp as a good road conversion sounds like a comment jim would make when he wins the lottery

oh and what about 600bhp in the snow and rain, not even thought about them either

oh and have yoiu ever used a 600+bhp cossie as a everyday car to make a comment like that

i cant belive i missed this one either

i remember one a guy that said he couldnt physicly work sundays, sounds like a quote like that

and we complain about nova drivers , 500bhp feels slow

As I have said on numerous times, one of the best ALL round conversions I had was a standard 4x4 bottom end + a 2wd head (gives 7.8:1 ratio), standard cams, three angled / valves / seats, T3/4 with 0.48 a/r, live mapped on 803s - 385bhp / 403lbft.

12.64 @ 115mph quarter and Datron timed 172mph.

More than enough power, no reliability problems - what more could you ask for?

so rod uses his car at his top speeds everyday , or more the correct face , he alwatys does over 170mph , on the way to safeways, collecting a video from blockbusters

and you are still saying that 600bhp is THE BEST road going conversion you can think of, below that is totally pointless

sorry mate, you are mistaken im sure you know it too, its great that ya have the money to spend, im not saying its not reliable in anyway, im saying haveing 600bhp+ is pointless for a road car as you have a crash ya not only gonna kill ya self but others around you

600bhp as in you need the WHOLE 600bhp ya not doing a normal 120mph that will loose ya ya licence, ya doing speeds that will get ya banged up and for a reason too

maybe im the old fart but think about it, im not one for commenting on speeding ect but 160mph with ya lunch box everyday is crap, you aint gonna do it all the way, ya not gonna beable too, i get the hump when i gotta brake as some tossers doing 80 on a long empty straight on the m40, now if i was doing 16 to 170 i wouldnt have time to shout wanker before i hit him

and when was the last time ya drove at 170mph on the way to work , im guessing it wasnt friday evening on the way back

good luck in ya choice, its a great car and will be a good car when done BUT its not a shopping car

bal

u dont half talk shit

who in the right fookin mind runs there car at full power every day (550+boys )
where have i said that im gonna run full boost/high octane fuel etc etc

why the fuk do u think i asked for a fukin road going conversion, so i can park in the garage and fukin just look at it

there is a thing as running your car at low power, where its still driveable and can be used as regualr runner whislt still retaining a big spec engine

If it's big spec engine mapped for pump fue why not just use a little less throttle and have full lamda control etc. on it? I do know of 400bhp Scoobies used everyday, surely more is possible, and maximum is more to transmission and other parts that are not reaod going in such high spec cars, am I right?

so ya mean a 600bhp engine running say 300bhp, erm sorry thats not a 600bhp engine then, it may beabel to do it but the daily drive aint 600bhp thats my fucking point, wheres the talking shit, you said 600bhp+ for a road going car conversion then ya gonna turn the boost down

am i the only one missing it

why do ya think a 600bhp car is a good conversion if ya turning the power down

that makes a smaller power conversion a good one and yours good for shows ect and general toy to play with

Oh and I don't understand the "Snow, wet" part. :-/ What's the difference if you have 300 or 600 HP - you still have to operate throttle carefully in wet and in snow you stil going sideways all the time The problem is you may need better nervs and self restrint and better driving skills but if you don't have those you can always drive fast car slower

By the way - I think, and I think I will always think that it's better to invest 1000GBP in you driving then in your car... I seen experiments on that made with stage times. The same stage stock car and Group A rallycar. Ralldriver drives it with oth cars and there is certain difference. The same is done with driver completny out of motorsport. THen both drivers get whole day course with expert of driving that car and do it again The amateur driver did learn muchmore then the difference between GR A and factory was and rallydriver gain A LOT too. The problem is not to have 600 HP bo to be able to use it anywhere else then on empty streight airfield.

My another 2pence

Ginge,
BP is for tramps, Optimax is where it's at .

BD10s oh my . Loose 20-30lb ft in the midrange for a 7bhp increase at top end - well worth it .

what about a bd10 ad bd12 ( in both orders), no rush mike, phone harvey in the morning as he might want some sleep

i as as i might fit standard cams if there that bad midrange or does other things make a difference

I wouldn't change the OE cams until I was trying to achieve / break the 400bhp mark . Not worth doing unless combined with some porting of the head.

Don't worry, as you can see from my reply, I can contact Harvey 24-7 via the "bat-phone" link I have set up .
