Default Self adjusting back brakes. Mmmmm

I have a 1996 mondeo and just changed shoes the pedal now gos half way to the floor, the self adj have not worked so redone brakes again not worked. The shoes are at the max to get drum on what els cn I do ?????

dont think i've ever done them on an old mondeo, but cant you adjust the adjuster on the brake cylinder through the inspection hole?

i normally adjust it so you cant turn the drums by hand, then back the adjuster off a bit
