Default focus wobble on acceleration.

not had a look yet so just asking if anyone has come across this before.

took a cheap 1.8td focus ghia saloon in p/x today. as its got half tank diesel in it ive decided to use it until it runs out!

on normal driving/over run its fine but on hardish acceleration the front end wobbles like mad-feels like the o/s.

im going to have a look at the usual suspects tomorrow dinner-c/v,ball joints, bushes.

anyone had this on a focus before?

Quite common on them is there's a bush mounted to the subframe that the driveshaft runs through, they often wear causing vibration on acceleration, could be worth a look!

my 2l petrol vibrated VERY badly on acceleration. turned out to be the inner tripod joints on the drive shafts had leaked grease and worn out. so worth a check.

also, as said, worth checking the torque mount (i've replaced mine for poly but it does make the car vibrate more on idle) and also worth checking the other bushes and shocksover too especially if its done over 100k as they'll be getting on a bit.

Id be willing to bet a substantial amount of cash it's the tripod. I had two of these and the wifes focus, all of which had the same problem.
