Default Focus 1.8 Service Items

Look for a list of items to service my Mk1 1.8 Focus has its going to be around for the next few year so need to look after it so i'm not too sure when stuffs been done as the place i got it from said they'd given it a filter service but the air filter wasn't new back when i got it so thinking blank slate and do whatever needs to be done just needing to know what products are best to use to keep it running tip top as well as claiming a little performance back from it if possible. Also doing brake pads and change the bulbs for something a little brighter/whiter as do decent amount of driving on unlit roads.
Need recommendations for the following.
Air Filter
Oil Filter
Oil (Thinking Magnetec)
Fuel Filter
Coolant
HT Lead
Spark Plugs
Brake Pads (Front and Back)
Bulb (Dipped and Main?)
Think thats everything also would it be recommended to flush the engine as well done just shy of 70k
Cheers Andy
PS Any questions please ask

Don't bother with engine flush, I used to use 5/30 engine oil from halfords without problem or if you fancy paying a few more quid then you can get it direct from fords.

Plugs/leads have a 100,000 mile life on them so wouldn't worry about them just yet, or if you buy that kit and get them then you may as well stick them in!

plugs do NOT have a 100,000 mile life on them, normally 30-36k max!
don't forget to check the gap on the new plugs.

cabin filter is worth doing too.

how many miles/age? cam belt is due at 100k or 10 years but tensioners are known to go before then so woth doing around the 80k mark. get the kit and while your down there do the water pump and auxilury belt too.

as above with oil, i've used halfods 5w/30 semi synthetic in a 1.6 silver top, 1.8 black top and 2l black top for an aproximate combined 80,000+ miles wih no problems at all. just change it more offten if it only does town driving or gets spanked regularly.

low miles but do the cam belt, easy job and it is old. get the timing kit (comes with crank pin and flat bar for the cams) and you will have to support the engine on the sump as you have to remove the o/s engine mount. i also had to drop the engine down a little to get one of the centre cover bolts out on my 2l as there wasn't quite enough room between the engine and chassis leg.

once you've done all this it should be a good little car mate

Yes they are dipshit, 100,000 miles is the Ford service interval for changing the long life spark plug.

I change my plugs every 8000 miles or so or every 2 years. They are cheap as chips and worth changing imo. Oil I change every 4000-5000 miles. Oil: Millers XSS 5W30 from opieoils. Brilliant oil and much better quality than magnatec. And definitely do the cambelt and tensioners.

yeah i do mine about 20k normaly and have settled with ngk platinums gapped to 1mm.

with regards to leads when i replaced mine at 100k with magnecores i noticed smoother running so imho 100k max on oe ford leads. less on motor factor leads.
