Imo id leave it how it looks, and build a simple zetec turbo for it, no rst bonnet or differ bumpers though wont be a sleeper then

Looks VERY clean and tidy, i've probably only seen about five that look as straight as yours does in the pic. I'd say fit some alloys from the ford range, or some BBS cross/lattice alloys max 16" Otherwise it looks smart!

I have had four Orions, none of them have been rot boxes incidentally, even my breaker. As always German ones seem to be better and with most fords they go on the wheel arches.

Currently in build a 2.0 zetec (will be eventually supercharged)







There are lots of straight, clean and tidy machines on the Orion reg, slammedorion owns two immaculate ones for a start

guna mask the door strips up and paint them black today as the chrome looks very pitted and started to peel, or shud i take them off?

Definately don't take the door strips off, will look odd without them as it has black bumpers. Just cover the chrome inserts with black tape, damn site easier than painting them!

yeah i wish i still had my old black 1600e, still remember the reg F71JYA, i had it in the mid 90's, just checked on the dvla website, seems it was scraped in march 1999, bugger

your title is wrong for starters mate its a mk2 orion not mk4, as for the price as massivewangers said its abit high im afraid i would say as its 88 spec (im sure im right in that one) i would say its worth £1200

Modifications will make little difference to the value of the car I'm afraid. Better to stick some tidy S2 wheels on and sell the Stealths seperately.

Sadly, Orions don't have much of a following, so they struggle to make good money, especially lower spec models.

cars worth a hassle free £1k in my eyes and stealths £300 with good tyres, rs7s were worth alot more if they have better tyres and were diamond cut ( £500+)

Kepp it, convert it to zetec turbo, 1.8 turbo D, or 1.6 efi cvh turbo , get some recaros in the front, get seom decent coilovers and saph 2wd brakes and rst drums, IB5 or mtx75 box, black grs intercooler hidden at the front, be cool. handily Everything fits orions off rst's

Iv sold loads ov rs7 an there worth about £500 max stealths are worth more in my point as there very rare now an never really see them!!!!!!!! every cossy or turbo at fordfair had rs7 on them didnt see many stealths an i can say bens car is mint an theres somebody out there who will give you what you want for it.

RS7s are worth a lot because they have mass appeal. Stealths simply don't, so to the vast majority, just aren't worth as much.

As said above, £1k absolutely tops for that IMO, and I've been around Orions Escorts for a long time.

Nice car, but unless it's a 1.6i Ghia, or turbo'd, it ain't worth a whole lot.
