Default HPI check fail!!

Anyone else had this problem?

On Friday I was set to part ex my ST for another motor, travelled 60 miles to the dealer after being up all night working. Anyhow he produces the HPI check for the Focus and states there is a mileage discrepency on the vehicle. Obviously the deal went south because of this and I have now found out it was down to a typo at the DVLA when issueing a document to the previous owner.
I had to do all of the groundwork to sort this out and i've lost out on a good deal too, not happy!

The process of clearing the discrepency was quite straightforward, I contacted VOSA who advised me to check and print off the MOT history on line, this was done and matched all other paperwork I have for the car. All of this was sent to HPI and I await the go ahead and a clean bill of health for the car.

HPI is not trustworthy in my opinion. I lost almost £5000 on a car in 18 months because of a non recorded CAT D repair against my car AFTER I bought it, but it happened almost 2 years BEFORE I bought the car.
