Ah well, that tells a different story now!
The B7 RS4 is the wrong one
If it was a B5 you had swapped it would be a totally different story!
I would of done the same, the B7 just isnt that quick or tuneable

The sound of the RS focus is pretty amusing for a std car! Was talking to my mate in his outside my house, as he drove off and changed to 2nd and it went BANG BANG really loud, sounds excellent. and inside they sound great too.

Focus is nice but I think I would rather have an Audi RS4.
Speed isnt everything ( well not for me ) and I think I would rather have better build quality.
The way I look at it is like this, maybe others think like me. If I took the Mrs out ( not that I do much ) what would I rather arrive in and not feel like a boy racer.... its more of a etiquette thing.
For me I would bin both of em for an Evo X... but I would would rather have the Audi for the above reason.
Sorry but that focus cant compare with this.

i think saying chavs drive fords is way off the mark, the amount of people driving audis because its an audi pisses me off, i think this guy should be given a pat on the back for getting something he wants plus saving money with running costs etc

Very nice looking FRS and pretty well specced up to boot.
Exactly what i would go for in a MK2 FRS.
I can releate to this 100% although on a lower budget.
Sold my Audi S8 last month and replaced it with an early FRS for the exact same reason. Running costs. The S8 is a 4.2L 360bhp V8 Auto. (no manual option available)
Fuel has gone through the roof and combine that with 16mpg as a daily runner doing over 40 miles a day it becomes stupid.
FRS is giving me 25-30mpg which IMO is very reasonable and affordable.
Well done and great choice

There's some very cheap touches to the focus rs though.. the fake carbon trim, why such bad looking fake stuff when the 3m stuff is available? The plastic of the dashboard, sitting in it the other day in places it looked cheaper than my new transit. The brake calipers! Cheap looking sliding calipers FFS! Also rears rusting up badly after 10k miles.
They do go nicely though and sound great, the front end look is a winner too. Not hot on the rear end myself.
I think they look best in white, the green is quite fitting for the look of the car too but not for me. The blue just totally looses the car, it's a very boring blue and when you see them on the road they blend in.
For me it'd be a white one with dark wheels (like this one) and some nice calipers front and rear.

Whats with all the RS Haters? When did the site change to passionihatefords.com?
I bet all the haters have never even driven either car?
Fords for chavs? What a load of old bollocks!
Nice RS by the way!

the mk2frs is the best ford out there, ive done 400 conversions on quite a few now.
such a nice car to drive very well planted to the the road, and for a FWD has plenty of grip.
MR brannen, a good swap in my eyes!!!!

Can't falt your reasoning, I would love an RS4 but they way Petrol prices & Insurance is going I can't see me doing it even at the grand old age of 37 . Guess the current old RS will be staying for a bit longer.

vag group reliability isnt all its cracked out to be, my next door neighbour has two passats and hes in his garage every other weekend replacing; wheel bearings, cv's, bushes, controll arms ect i abuse my focus its done 120k and its still nearly 100% original parts(minus one short block that got oil starvation), and the fact vag uses loads of custom tooling ford uses more conventional tools.
I tend to find vag cars a bit boring to drive understeer, they are realy only comfortable motorway cruisers

Having worked on a lot of new current model Audi's and Ford's I really cannot see where these build quality statements come from?! The current generation Ford cars are exremely well put together.

I saw an RS4 very similar to the Grey one posted before, must have had a non-resonated exhaust on it, because when it pulled out of the junction and gave it some stick past me it sounded absolutely unreal.
Out of interest, what sort of mpg did the OPs mate get from the RS4?? What sort of MPG is he getting from the Focus??
Cheers,
Grant

Testing the future
dan, with all due respect....but..... NO
fords by definition mostly belong to chavs, same doesnt apply to audis
fords by definition always go wrong, again does not apply to audis
my S4 went 310km/h, u can do whatever u like to a focus it will never ever do that.
and to top it all off, wheres the luxury in a ford ? do they even know what leather is ??

Every make of car goes wrong.
Every make of car is driven by wankers.
Every make of car is driven by chavs.
Every make of car has drivers that dont indicate.
etc
etc
etc
When are people going to stop being so fucking narrow minded, its pathetic

lol just read tho this oh dear has anyone on here owned a vag car recently build quality might be good bodywise but mechanical they are hit and miss.
ford have always been poor with body work and build quality but their mechanical side has improved amazingly.
also i agree with the guy on running cost anything with a v lump drinks fuel.
at the moment my main wip is a mk4 golf v6 4 motion and around town i get 15-18 mpg... now i'm gonna get myself an m3 as they are better on fuel.
only thing i would miss if swapped between the two cars was the sound of that v lump

Whoa whoa whoa... calm down etc.
Not knocking either car, Im giving an opinion as to what car I would like and the reason why...and those trees well its not my car and not my garden so I dont really care. Just a random piccy off the internerd.
I can undertstand people swapping to a more economically viable car.. I have done the same. Im genuinely interested in how the 2 vehicles compare ie running. Obviously petrol (MPG) is easy to find out via the interweb but I take it its servicing costs etc which has made him change.
As with the comments with regards to Ford haters ... Lots of people are interested in a range of cars and not just fords. Because someone says they prefere the Audi doesnt make them Ford haters... Its just a matter of choice. I love Fords and have had lots of them but I also like Audi,BMW and Mitsusushi. All have pro's and cons and all vehicles will be driven by a W*nker at some time or other.
so check out this website www.stopbeingblinkeredandjustbeanenthusiast.com seriously dont click on the link as it will probably direct you to goat porn or something.
